Meet Lt. Grubbs
Lt. Charles Grubbs has served the Harrisonburg, Virginia, community since 2003. He is the Special Operations Division Commander, leading the community resource unit, traffic unit, K9, auxiliary, and victim services. Lt. Grubbs is also responsible for the crisis negotiation team, peer support, and tactical patrol unit.
Lt. Grubbs obtained his bachelor's degree from Radford University in 2002 before joining the police department. Lt. Grubbs completed the Northwestern School for Police Staff and Command in 2018 and was awarded the Kreml Leadership Award. In 2021, Lt. Grubbs obtained a Master's in Criminal Justice: Law Enforcement Leadership from Liberty University. Lt. Grubbs sat on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers/Big Sister from 2016-2023 and is currently a Board Member for the Boys and Girls Club of Harrisonburg and Rockingham.
Lt. Grubbs is a certified general instructor and Crime Prevention Specialist through the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services and holds other instructorships. He teaches classes on ethics, cultural diversity, crime prevention, and other topics.
